Cellarmasters: The Wine Cellar BYO Restaurant Awards 2005

20th September 2005.

After 2 months of voting with nearly 1500 restaurants nominated, the winners of the inaugural Cellarmasters: The Wine Cellar BYO Restaurant Awards 2005 were announced on Wednesday 14th of September, 2005.

Thanks for the link AJ, but the results look pretty suss and the site is awful to use as well.

If this is what CM members vote for, they know their restaurants about as well as their wines. :(

There are numerous Canberra BYO restaurants missing, including numerous standouts in the city centre and elsewhere.

On a quick search I couldn't find many of the BYO's recommended by forumites and included on the page on my site. I know which list I trust.

Brian,

Yes, I tend to agree with you. Your list is definitely a cut above anything else out there.

Maybe you should think about doing a similiar annual award/poll for each capital city/region on the Auswine Best BYO Restaurant for 2005. :P :P

Instead of rating by the number of "hats" we could rate the restaurants by a number of "bottles"! :shock: (red of course)

I notice that the criteria seems to be that the restaurants offer free BYO to CellarMaster members. That could explain why there are so few restaurants listed!!
