Torzi Matthews Frost Dodger Shiraz 2004

Wow, this is one sexy nose, its brambly, its lifted with exotic spices, is a hint herbal, flicked with touches of musk, while holding tight to a deep core of fruit, all plums, bark berries and squished raspberries. Its floral, its lifted, its fruity, its remarkably complex, a nose to die for. The palate, well its no let down. First thing you notice is the mouthfeel, its creamy, classy and complex, with plummy fruits, raspberry and cherry touches, a hint of vanilla, touches of blackberries and cream, and then in comes a deep core of almost prunes, from the Amarone part I guess - then finally a hint, like its been dusted with icing sugar. Its young, but its balanced, its already complex with a huge upside, and it has a very fine tannin edged structure. Wow, great stuff, intriguing and sophisticated, serious wine that is seriously under priced! Fine fine sensitive wine making on some superb quality fruit. We loved it, so will you! - The auswine panel

Torzi Matthews Frost Dodger Riesling 2006

Perfectly pale colour, like water with the faintest touch of straw, this is premium young Riesling. Its intensely regional, no Bickfords Lime from the Clare Valley, this is floral, lifted, lemon blossom, hints of limes, then in rushes spice, bath talc, grapefruit, followed by hints of tropical fruit and a touch of sherbert. The palate too is wonderful, very young, tight and structured, but with lovely natural acid on the finish. The mouthfeel is quite round and full, perhaps the natural yeast ferment helps this, its long and pure fruited, lemons limes and citrus accented fruits and a along long lingering finish. Delicious, and just what Eden Valley Riesling should be like, beautiful now but will undoubtedly cellar too! terrific wine. - The auswine panel

Hi Jonzie, what price are you after? The rep for the brand is a regular customer of mine. I am positive he would like some exposure in N.Z.

Drop me a private message for further info.

Cheers,Wine Bloke.
